Why your business needs a happy website

Iโ€™m absolutely certain that youโ€™ve seen your fair share of bland, boring and (sometimes) terrible websites in your time on the internet.

The kind that makes you exit immediately because whatever they have to say or sell, you have no interest in hearing based on the website alone!

Thatโ€™s why I will forever shout about how much small biz owners and freelancers need HAPPY websites to stand out, engage their ideal customer and sell their products and services.

What is a Happy website?

A Happy website is one that's bursting with personality, giving a clear impression of what your brand is about to every single person that lands on your site. One that screams authenticity and feels so quintessentially [insert your brand name here] that your ideal customers come running!

It balances the information you want to communicate about your biz alongside the user experience (UX) and what your audience wants to see, keeping them engaged and (hopefully) wanting to work with you.

To put it simply: vibrant, personality-based branding + technically sound site with engaging UX = one very Happy website!

Why do I need a Happy website?

Aside from the fact that a Happy website will make you want to shout your URL from the rooftops, there are plenty of benefits:

1. It builds credibility

A Happy website bursting with wonderful brand assets helps to cement you as a leader in your field. It shows that you have pride in what you do - you live and breathe it! It tells the world you're running a business, not a hobby, which is something thatโ€™s important to establish as a small biz owner or freelancer.

2. It helps you stand out

Yes, there are many people who do what you do, but do they run your business like you run yours? A Happy website establishes that the customer experience is important to you - starting with how your customer is able to navigate your brandโ€™s online home. This is where you set the tone for all business interactions to come!

3. It streamlines your biz processes

Are you using multiple websites to try and get sales or leads? Various Instagram posts, a Linkin.bio and Calendly just to get someone to book a chat in with you is a lot of clicks - potentially too many to get customers taking the desired action. By having all of the key info on your website in a concise, engaging way, you're making it much easier for them to say yes.

4. It's much more efficient

Repeating the same information about your products and services over and over again is tedious - it means that potential customers don't know how to find what they need to buy from or work with you. Sending them to your website or a specific landing page where all of their questions are answered is an easy win! Plus, it gives your business transparency, which is great for building confidence.

5. It makes you memorable

Bold colours, quirky graphics, a font that's synonymous with your brand - all of these elements make your business stick in your ideal customer's mind. If you've got little cat legs coming out of the side of your webpages that spark joy and delight in your audience, I'm pretty sure they're going to remember you!

To put it simply, as a small brand, the happier your website is, the more likely your ideal customer will want to spend time on it. More time equals more engagement with your brand and your offers, increasing the likelihood that the perfect customer will want to book you, resulting in more leads for your business!
