Charlie is a colourful digital illustrator known for her playful, nostalgic designs from the 80s and 90s. She’s particularly passionate about play and education, and how they combine to create learning experiences filled with fun. Her wonderful designs have been featured on products from lunch boxes to clothing, as well as beautiful public art and murals!
Before
Charlie originally DIYed her website over ten years ago, and even though she purchased a new template last year, she could never find the time to finish reworking it. This ended up in a website that Charlie didn’t feel proud of sharing - so she didn’t. As a design and creativity business though, she really needed a website that would showcase her work properly and give potential clients a sense of confidence to work with her.
Some key goals for the day:
Create a fun website filled with Charlie’s illustrations
Better information hierarchy across pages
Clearly demonstrate all services with key information
Configure her project section to emphase outcomes
Add movement to subtitles and key graphics
The client wanted:
A playful website showcasing her illustrations and their uses
Charlie’s dream was to have a fun, happy website that would show the many incredible ways her illustrations can bring information, products and public/private spaces to life.
After
Charlie’s website is finally the perfect showcase for her wonderful, whimsical illustrations, clearly expressing all the different ways potential clients can work with her. Now she doesn’t need to worry about fixing up her website anymore, and I’ve taught her how she can easily update it (especially the portfolio) herself in the future.
Now Charlie has:
A dynamic website full of her illustrations and pictures of her work
Text that tells a story and tells clients everything they need to know
Project templates that showcase her work perfectly
Lots of movement with her logo, graphics and other elements
